The Fairbanks Four / Hoodie - Black

The Fairbanks Four / Hoodie - Black

This design represents the beauty, strength, and struggle of Native America. When the Whites so called “settled” the land, we were very much at bloody war with each other. Beaten with all the technology and diseases carried against the tribes of America, the Natives were pushed into villages and reservations in some of the toughest lands far from the birth of the American dreams. Today most Natives still set in these communities plagued with 3rd world living conditions, no industry, and a lack of understanding on how to deal with this new way of life. In these Native communities we still live with the strong culture of our ancestors, but we also still share the pain of their death and struggle from this defeat.

I believe that we can overcome this struggle by recognizing where we are at, accepting it, and moving on. I wanted to do this design to bring our struggle to light and also to show the beauty and strength that we also carry. If we can embrace our dancing, singing, language, and traditional foods, we will give much needed breath to the heart of our pride and way of life.
